There's a noteworthy bit at the end of the article:

Quote
Moments later, Wilson got up and left through the back door, speeding away in a sports car while his entourage scrambled for their cars ("You know Brian -- when he wants to go, he goes").

I remember reading a thread on this very same board, in which people were wondering if Brian was still used to driving his car himself or not. Seems like we've got an answer!

There was an article on Brian in Rolling Stone from around '05 or '06 where the reporter talks about Brian driving him around LA.

In 2004, he owned a Mercedes SL500, a Hummer and a "Porsche Turbo" (911? Cayenne?)

While we're at it, here's an interesting article about Mike and his cars, for those who've missed it:

For a guy that wrote so many song about cars, why does the idea of him driving sound so bizarre to me?  LOL

Because you would not want to be following him in traffic. I imagine some distraction might be involved.

I believe AGD can confirm the story i read around these parts about Brian personally driving Stephen Kalinich back from hospital after a recent illness..... and Stephen not exactly enjoying the experience  Wink 2

Haha... this reminds me of a dry remark of a female writer at Rolling Stone, around 1985, on Bruce Springsteen: 'I wonder what he'd be writing about if he'd failed his driving test?'.

Stevie told me about that last time we met. I got the distinct impression he wasn't going to let Brian play chauffeur again any time soon. Or ever.
