Wow I haven't heard that Frank Black version in years! I actually heard his version just before I heard the original and got into Pet Sounds. It kind of primed me for pet Sounds as I was a big Pixies fan and thought if they're covering songs from PS it must be a cool album! His version sounds ancient now. Funny how these things date.

I'd have to vote for the Frank Black version, because it literally changed my life.  I did not understand the connection between punk and alternative rock and the pop music I was weaned on until I heard that song.  It was like a giant light bulb went off in my head.

I saw him play solo at the Mint last night, btw...tres cool!
