You know, I had never bothered to learn the whole story...and frankly never wanted to.  But it answered some questions.  I wasn't sure if Denny or Terry were ever a target...sounds like they weren't.

I wonder how the whole incident reflected on the Boys though.  Did the public know about the connection then?  Did Capitol records?  I may not have my dates correct...but could this madness have cemented the break up from the label in any way -- or was that a done deal?  I mean...something this insane would have just completely shattered me.  I wouldn't be surprised if it made the guys just want to hang it up, get away and go home "screw the band, I'm done...this is nuts!"  Capitol records too.  The public as well...if they knew of it.  Talk about a PR nightmare!

I watched it; thought it was very good. For a 60 minute documentary (45 minutes with commercials) they got a lot in.

I was surprised about two things. First, some of the photos, which I've never seen, were very graphic. They were only shown briefly, but I was surprised they were aired.

Second, there was much more about Dennis than I've ever seen in a Manson documentary, especially one this short. Rare pictures, video, and home movies were used. Nothing really bad was said about Dennis or his involvement with the crimes (that we already didn't know), but it was wince-worthy or cringe-worthy. They mentioned Dennis picking up the hitchhikers, the "family" living at his house, Dennis introducing Charlie to music people, etc. (a personal note: I don't know why, but I kept thinking about that recent thread on this board about why Dennis didn't or wasn't given the opportunity to "lead" the band after Brian's retreat). Anyway, maybe the most disturbing Dennis/BB-related thing shown was the relationship between "Cease To Exist" and "Never Learn To Love". They played snippets of both tracks. Damn, "Never Learn Not To Love" sounded good, but, they made it appear that the Beach Boys ripped off the song from Manson (I forget what they said the BBs offered him for it). It did not make the Beach Boys look good.

Gregg Jakobson was all over the place; he might've been interviewed more than anybody. I never realized how much Gregg hung out with "the family". At the ending credits, which were very brief, it showed Jon Stebbins' name for about a half a second...

There's a Manson documentary on UK Channel Five on Monday 10th (repeated Wed 12th on sister station Five US) at 2200 BST. It's a 2 hour show so should be pretty in depth.

Don't know for sure how much BB content there will be but surely there will be some.
Would be happier if it were a BBC show as Five are a bit sensationalist but let's see  Undecided

Anyone know if this will be replayed? I'm on the road and without cable for the next few days, so I missed it.

I think they said it will be re=played tonight sometime late, but check Foxnews.com

It's on again at 10 p.m. tonight.

I thought the "Dennis Wilson Home Movie" was cool, would be nice to see more of that.

Damn, missed the show. That's what happens when you don't have cable or internet for a few weeks.  Shocked
