I've been looking for a book to read recently.  So...what is the best (well-written, accurate, up to date) Beatles biography out there??

The Beatles: The Biography by Bob Spitz is probably the most recent one I know of.

Spitz has a somewhat muddied rep. Go for the Hunter Davies one and  Phillip Norman's Shout.

i liked the Spitz one - it's well written and satisfyingly chunky, although i haven't heard anything about his reputation. Norman's new Lennon book is also pretty good, unless you're a macca fan, obviously.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.
What is this "life" thing you speak of ?

I've read the Hunter Davies book, plus "The Love You Make" by Peter Brown and Stephen Gaines.

The "Anthology" book.

And "Revolution in the Head: The Beatles' Records and the Sixties" is not a biography, but it certainly is my favorite book about The Beatles.

I have this book also:

http://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Recording-Sessions-Official-1962-1970/dp/0517581825

The Beatles Recording Sessions 1962-1970

Not really a biography but very interesting.  I'd like to see a book like this for The Beach Boys.
