Ah! The Joint's right around the corner from me!!!

I should make good on the fact that a bunch of years ago, me and a friend went to a Blondie show at The Mint, here in LA. We got there early and were sitting at the bar and Blondie strolls by and my friend asks "Hey, Blondie, you gonna do Sail On Sailor"? and Blondie replies "Not tonight, guys" .... So, me and my friend look at each other get up and split..... I still feel bad about that.

Don't want to make you feel even worse, but if it's the night I'm thinking of, he didn't do "Sail On Sailor" because he premiered his entire new album that night.  And it was quite a show!

Mike and Bruce should play someplace like The Joint!

Not kidding! Or The Echo in LA! If they're going to play smaller "bringing the music to the people" places, there are a lot "cooler" ways to go than SeaWorld or Nutty Jerry's.

The South Pasadena library. The Professor played a gig on drums for seniors there once. If any of you mates plan to go, please let the Professor know. Would be happy to meet you and say hello.

Edit: sold out. . . . . .

Do they still have the record swap meet once a month at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena?  Mike & Bruce could play that.  They wouldn't fill the Bowl, but it would be a nice gig for the record collecting crowd on the weekend...

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Weren't there some people who thought the professor WAS VDP?  Once again, they won't be in the same room at the same time. You've got to stop not meeting like that.

As soon as I saw the first message in this thread I turned around and asked my wife if she wanted to go to Pasadena Wednesday. Too bad it's sold out. Does anybody remember when my e-mail account got hacked and wound up sending spam messages to all of my contacts including Van Dyke? He replied something along the lines of "Keep your shoes on". I've always wanted to apologize to him even though it wasn't intentionally my fault.

I have such a knack for finding out about events like VDP in Pasadena after they are sold out. (sigh)

If anybody has a spare ticket for the VDP show or a friend or spouse who somehow doesn't want to hear The All Golden on a work night, shoot me a PM and I'll give you a lovely green portrait of a dead President... and some uh, DVDs? First born child? Let's talk.  Danke.

So, did you make it last night?  Judging by the setlist from January,  http://waddywachtelinfo.com/WWBJanuary2013.html ,   I'm willing to bet Blondie did "Sail On Sailor" in the first set.  I didn't make it until the second set, where he did "Lawyers Guns & Money", followed by "A Change is Gonna Come".  He's sounding better than ever; bet he's going to have a strong Third Act...
