Brilliant show!! The purchase price for the DVD here in Australia though works out to more than $1 a minute!! Good thing the concert is so good.

Just finally got around to buying it. Brilliant. Brian sings wonderfully and the band rocks.

A great look at the band in the early days. Essential for any true fan of the band despite the short duration of the concert. I particularly love Brian's singing throughout the concert. Makes me sad and makes me realise how much his voice was missed in the blend in concerts after he retired from touring. I really like the performances of Surfer Girl and In My Room especially

I noticed a clip of Mike doing Monster Mash in the closing credits. Is this the same performance that was used for the live Concert album in 64? Because it seems like it. I also for the first time today noticed Marilyn sitting in the audience. She's shown several times and on one occasion she seems to be communicating with Brian on stage.

A must-check for any fan. Probably the best live footage of the Beach Boys in the early 60's (the TAMI show is a close second). 4 out of 5

Dennis is really the star of this show - his drumming drives the band, although it's cool to see a healthy Brian onstage rockin' the bass and singing like only he could.

Yeah she's tellng Brian to smile I think. Fred Vail's also sitting on that same row!

To view my video documentation of my Beach Boys collection go to www.youtube.com/justinplank "Someone needs to tell Adrian Baker that imitation isn't innovation." -The Real Beach Boy ~post of the century~ "Well, you reached out to me too, David, and I'd be more than happy to fill Bgas's shoes. This is a great, historical document of the original Beach Boys. A must own.
The setlist is a little short, but it's still great footage for the time.
I wish they'd make this a part of a larger anthology DVD of TV appearances / live stuff from the first decade of The Beach Boys.

My take on Marilyn's gesture is that she's telling Brian that he'd better be looking at her (and not other girls!).
Does anyone know why Monster Mash was not included?

I'd always thought she was getting him to focus on her to allay his stage fright. - many interpretations!

I would rate this 5/5. On a local (New Orleans) FB page someone posted a poster of this as it’s the anniversary, March 14. It was shown nationwide in the US on closed circuit TV and locally at our Municipal Auditorium. There were 2 matinee shows. The poster just shows a picture of The Beatles who were the headliners, performing in Washington DC. Along with The Beach Boys, there was also a concert by Leslie Gore. That must have been exciting to see
