Does anyone know the story of how Brian got the idea to have a James Bond song? Was it recorded for You Only Live Twice (1967) or possibly Thunderball (1965) and got rejected by the Bond creators?

And does anyone know if the song Pet Sounds is the exact recording (unaltered) from its incarnation as a Bond song candidate?

Thunderball hit the screens about a month after the "Run James Run" recording session, so Brian was probably inspired by seeing trailers for it, and thought he'd do something to offer for the next film.

If you take the average of a few interviews, Brian had a 'bright idea', but it was never actually offered to the Bond people.
