This is pretty cool, I like the strident vocal. The organ stabs are nice and the drums give it more of a sleazy edge than the original. I like the more 'angelic' sounding harmonies too.

I read an interview with Brian about this song in which he said that this was his 'tribute to the Stones' (that may have changed since) and I can kind of see what he means but I always wanted to do a cover of this myself and make it blatantly more Stones-ish, I might still do that one day.

Heard him say something similar about "Marcella"...

@Luther:
It has a different feel than the original. Like matt-zeus said, the backgroundvocs sound not as edgy as Brian's. But I'd put maybe some echo on the lead. All in all a nice job....

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I couldn't change it now if I wanted to: it was done on an old computer and old software nearly a decade ago. Those multitracks are long since lost. I was just posting it because someone else posted his! But yeah, as usual when I do BW (or any other) covers, I didn't really work very hard at recreating anything. I just figure out the song and then do a version with no real intention of sounding the same or different ... I just do them. I do recall not using echo on the lead to make it contrast with the group vox, though.
