Just heard a track by this mysterious group called "Hawaii in Ten Seconds", a beautiful distillation of 'Hawaiian' as the title promises but also an echo of Brian Wilson's take on the subject: it sounds like the island tune "You're Welcome" might have been based on as transmitted to the Boys via a Kingston Trio cover.

Maybe I'm overcomplicating this all, but I'm really beguiled by this short track. Is there more by these folks (whoever they are) worth listening to?

That's from their self-titled 2000 album. A friend of mine had it and i remember listening to it a lot when it came out. Some very good folk-pop. Another good one is Aztec Discipline from a couple of years ago. Again, i haven't listened to it for a while but i used to love it. Gonna dig it out tonight in fact..

I saw them live when their first album came out, and they're a lovely, doodling melodic pop band with a load  of pleasant tunes ( but maybe no real killers), well worth searching out and having a listen too.

I dig their track "Piss Diary", a song comparable to late 60s Kinks and Beach Boys.
