Why is this being referred to as an "Import" on the Amazon U.S. site?

I don't think that page is complete yet.  They only list the 12 POB tracks, and it says that it is also available as an audio cassette.  Looks like they just copied an old listing for the single disc, and made a couple of changes.

Yeah that listing is a long way from being reflective of what this package will be. Give it a little time and I'm sure Sony and Amazon will get it together.

Yeah, it's strange, but if this is true or not, I checked and the purchaser can select shipping options, as usual pre-order items.
Amazon will update this link, sure, with the correct price, tracklist, etc...

Last time I looked at this page, the image appeared to have been taken from a bootleg... I didn't pre-order it cos I don't trust it. Too much room for error on Amazon when they allow other traders to use their site as a marketplace.

... for example if you search for Dennis Wilson downloads you might download Time (at http://www.amazon.com/Blue/dp/B000QR31RG/ref=sr_f3_2?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1208539778&sr=103-2) only it's not Dennis Wilson's Time -  despite what all the customer reviews might suggest!

IU'll wait a  while before ordering.

Plus, Jon S, didn't you say that there might be a limited edition in special packaging? That sounds like a good way to celebrate to me!

They updated some things on that link: the title, price, release date and they retired the original tracklist (12 songs).
If this is true, they'll post the official tracklist, but about the photo...some titles on pre-order doesn't have a photo.
We'll wait that it's true.

I'm still not confident in this pre-order though. When thye update it more, I'll gladly do it. I'm worried about finding it at my area stores...
Also, the title is odd. I don't think it should be billed as a two-fer type-package. Amazon is calling it "Pacific Ocean Blue & Bambu".

Yeah the correct title according to Caribou/Epic/Legacy is "Pacific Ocean Blue - Legacy Edition"

I'm not so sure that I would take pre-orders with that Amazon.com listing just yet.  There is an actual official website for the album where you can join a mailing list:

The only reason i hesitate to pre-order is that i'm going to want it ON THE DAY.  I am not going to want to have to wait for it.  Amazon doesn't always get things to the customer in such a timely manner.

No, i think i'll make sure my local mom-and-pop is going to order it and have it on the day, and i'll give them my hard-earned money.

I gave in and pre-ordered it. I want it the day it comes out, too, but I'd like to at least know that I'm 100% sure I'll get it. We do have those wonderful Newberry Comics in New England, but they jack up the price on everything. There's no way they'll be cheaper. Certainly our Best Buys aren't going to get in more than a copy or two and they won't have it any cheaper than Amazon.

For what it's worth, the Best Buy and Circuit City websites also list it as available for pre-order at $29.99.

I don't know if this was already mentioned but in the actual Mojo is an article on POB and a picture of Dennis and Karen on the Beach, shot by Dean Torrence as it says

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

their website is also covering it, without that specific picture though...
