On the MSG network (NY) New Years Eve they played the All-Star Tribute to Brian from '01.  I don't know why I never got around to watching it, but I caught Heart w/ the Harlem Boys Choir performing Good Vibrations and it was fantastic.
(Followed by Jimmy Webb, Vince Gill, and David Crosby, which was also great.) During one of the biographical segments (I think Dennis Hopper was reading it), they covered the Landy situation.  While it's hard to be a big fan of Landy, I thought it was inappropriate for that to be included in the tribute.  Just odd to mention in that setting.

The two guys who were hosting the New Years Eve programming for MSG were commenting on the show heading into commercial breaks, and at one point one of them starting weeping when discussing Brian's career.
Brian sure has a knack for inspiring tears of joy!

Perhaps those who don't know Brian's bio, they stated about Landy to give maybe some closure? He was with him for about 10+ years? (correct me if im wrong) If I'd heard about the depression/dark days of Brian but then there's suddenly light when he re-marries, and goes back on tour and such...I'd question how he got there.

No doubt, Landy is a big part of Brian's story.  The way the bio segments were presented (from the stage, in front of a large audience), and given the spirit of the proceedings, it just seemed like it didn't need to be in there.  Perhaps they could've alluded to it....been more subtle.  I have a feeling Brian would've appreciated it.
