The Beach Boys in Hong Kong 1966

The Beach Boys January 1966 tour of Japan is well known and Keith Badman seems to have properly listed all of their concert apps there up to January 23.  The next show he lists is Hawaii on Jan 29 1966 (I have ads for this show and the date is correct).  However, in a 1966 TeenSet article in which Brian Wilson was interviewed in his home-while working on Pet Sounds with Tony Asher (present for part of the interview)- Brian was asked about the groups recent tour of Japan, Hong Kong and Hawaii. He commented that the guys especially liked the reception by their fans in Hong Kong.  So-it appears that the group played in Hong Kong after Japan and then traveled on to Hawaii before heading home. I have no idea how many shows they played in Hong Kong but I'd love to find out- if anyone has access to microfilm of 1966 Hong Kong newspapers and wants to check- Great! There was-of course-an English language daily published that probably had ads or articles about these shows- but my guess is Jan 24-27 or 28 they were in Hong Kong- so there you go.  Not that amazing really- the Beatles also stopped in Hong Kong once and I believe the Stones played there in 66-though I can't swear to it.
