I am sure it´s the "attempt at overdubbing", i.e. track 20 on "Lost And Found" , stereo on CD, mono on the ARIOLA single of course .

Thanks. I read that the guitar solo is different, but apparently not...

"It's A Beautiful Day" on single b/w "Sumahama", October 1979

"It's A Beautiful Day" is on "Ten Years Of Harmony"

2 versions exist:
the album mix (from the Americathon-soundtrack LP, OOP)
the US 45-mix (shorter edit), also OOP

And yes, one of those appeared on 10 Years Of Harmony...but that Epic cd-release is long OOP... and I quote:

Just some remarks:

Quote
Wouldn’t It Be Nice (live in Big Sur) on V/A album “Celebration” (January 1971)
> this album did have a cd-release (but probably withdrawn by now).

Quote
Here Comes The Night (instrumental) on “Here Comes The Night” maxi single (March 1979)
> not to disappoint you, but there are more versions floating around, albeit DJ-versions, see below...

Quote
What I’d Say (live in Sydney 1964) on withdrawn Australian album “Beach Boys/Brian Wilson Rarities” (September 1981)
> the ‘regular’ Rarities release had a brief Japanese cd-release but is long OOP as well. So one could name all those tracks too (With A Little Help From My Friends, extended version of I Was Made To Love Her, etc)

Quote
Good Vibrations (live) on “Rock And Roll To The Rescue” single (August 1986)
> and don’t forget the R&R to the Resque instrumental mix, the Percadella mix, a vocal mix, and I think there was a 4th one…
Btw, GV live is from Live In London...

Quote
Happy Endings (with Little Richard) on “Happy Endings” single (November 1987)
> again: another (longer) edit exists, both on promo (with both versions) as on a picture-disc.

Quote
Problem Child on “Problem Child” single (July 1990)
Problem Child (instrumental) on “Problem Child” single (July 1990)
> and don’t forget the 3rd version: the radio-edit!! (hm, probably promo only, doesn't count)

And further...not that I want to discourage you...but there are more...
- Bluebirds Over The Mountain (Dutch mix). It is available on Rarities and The Dutch Singles Collection, but both are OOP now
- Never Learn Not To Love (single edit, without the intro)
- Susie Cincinnati (1970, b-side Add Some Music, first mix, different from 15BO)
- Cool Cool Water (45-edit, could be on a recent compilation though, not sure about that)
- Cuddle Up (45-edit, different from the LP)
- California Saga – California (again: not sure if it’s on a recent compilation, could very well be)
- Honkin’ Down The Highway (wrong edit, released on first Epic 1990 cd-release of Love You)
- Hey Little Tomboy (the longer 45-edit)
- Come Go With Me (wrong edit, released on first Epic 1990 cd-release of MIU)
- Winds Of Change (wrong edit, released on first Epic 1990 cd-release of MIU)
- Peggy Sue (wrong edit, released on first Epic 1990 cd-release of MIU)
- Lady Lynda (US 45-edit)
- Here Comes The Night DJ Reservice short version 3:25: b-side to the long single version 4:28 (ZS8 9026) (yeah I know...promo)
- Here Comes The Night DJ Reservice 12'' single short vocal version 6:44 (Caribou AA-AF 2Z8 9028, with as b-side the regular album version) (again...promo)
- Sumahama (Waves-mix (to be found on a Japanese only sampler LP: Tropical Sounds (CBS Sony YAPC 133))
- Here Comes The Night - vocal version (10:41)
- It’s A Beautiful Day – album version (on the Americathon soundtrack LP)
- It’s A Beautiful Day – 45 edit. Could be on a recent comp, but I’m not sure. Btw, it’s b-side, Sumahama, is a 45-edit. Although not mentioned, this version can be found on the compilation cd "The Brother Years (1970-86)"
- Living With A Heartache (shorter US 45-edit)
- School Days (45-edit, on promo-45 only, but also on the official but OOP Ten Years Of Harmony 2CD)
- Somewhere Near Japan radio edit (but that's a promo cd-single version)

As for solo-work
Dennis:
- Sound Of Free (45-release); Lady did have a rare cd-release not that long ago, but I forgot which V/A-comp that was...
- Pacific Ocean Blue (long OOP)

Carl:
- both solo-albums are long OOP
- several 45-edits (I think shorter edits of Heaven, Hurry Love and Hold Me exist)

Bruce:
- Pipeline (45-edit)

Mike / Celebration:
- Looking Back With Love (LP)
- Celebration Almost Summer (soundtrack LP)
- Celebration: 2nd album
- Disco Celebration (LP; although opinions differ on whether it even got an official release, but I know several people who have a copy)

Blondie Chaplin:
- Gimme More Rock ‘N’ Roll (45-edit)
- And is his first solo-album still available on CD?

And at least interesting...
 The Flame:
- Another Day Like Heaven (shorter 45-edit)

Thanks for that!

I see withdrawn and OOP as two different things. Withdrawn means it was pulled back for a specific reason, OOP means it just sold out and wasn't reprinted. So OOP is still 'officially released'.

Er... yes it is - the Ariola 45 is a mono mix/fold-down of the stereo overdub attempt.

Livin' Doll? Wow, I've never heard of that song. Was that a brand new BW solo single or just a collaboration/cover version?

"Livin' Doll" was "released" as a flexi single as part of the California Dream Barbie package in the late 80s. Same song as "Christine", with different lyrics. The flexi credits The BB, but it's Brian.

Well, so were songs like What'd I Say or the Rarities stuff.  To me, "withdrawn" is a total subset of "OOP".

There's a MONO mix of Susie Cincinatti released on the promo Add Some Music single, which is different from the stereo mix on the regular single.

Oh, and a mono mix of Little Bird, Bside.

Of course there are mono mixes of entire albums (Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Shut Down Vol 2, and Concert) that are OOP with the exception of the singles on Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2.
