IT wasn't a case of California Girls at Wednesday night's Beach Boys concert with the veteran pop band inviting a couple of Adelaide girls onstage for a roaring rendition of the classic Barbara Ann.

Local gals Sheree Scott, left, and Laura Hall, right with Mike Love, were spotted early in the night by frontman Love.

The dazzling duo were approached by security and asked if they would like to go onstage.

"We were loving it, we have always loved The Beach Boys since we were little and we have been best friends for years," Laura says. "I actually bought the tickets for Sheree's birthday."

After 10 songs worth of dancing on the side of the stage the girls were invited onstage to provide backing vocals and some handy fretwork by Sheree to Barbara Ann.

Following their stellar performance the girls were invited  backstage for a drink.

."They were lovely guys - old but lovely," Laura says.

Mike Love never changes. So he spends the first 5 songs or so leering at the first few rows? How about the girl's comment. They were lovely........OLD but lovely.

The girls at least got it half right-Old, but it's kind of a   s t r e t c h  about the lovely part.
