Is there two versions of this song. I remember someone (Malc or someone?) posting a quote from Rick Henn who said that the singers on the track were him, Dennis, Ray Pohlman and two others. But then I've also heard people say its Carl and Dennis. And on the track it says "Dennis and Carl up, backgrounds down" or something like that... so is there actually two versions? Sorry if this has been answered before.

It's all about 'harmony' ...

There are certainly 2 versions in circulation - the 'original' cut featuring Rick , Dennis and co ... whilst the second version appears to be a rough attempt at adding Carl & Brian to the mix. This is the version that starts with "Brian & Carl up, backgrounds down, mix one ..."

Oh okay. Thanks Malc. So in other words, they were potentially going to have 7 voices on the song? Or were they going to try and record it as a Beach Boys track and just have Brian and Carl and/or Dennis and the others? I just rememeber in that quote that Rick Henn said Murry wrote it for the Beach Boys. Would've been a nice song, still is in fact. I really dig it. It has a real nice melody and feel to it and the singing is really great.

Brian does a good job at the lead, but I think it's a little old fashioned for them at the time.
