Hello,

Does anyone happen to know when the b&w photos of Brian were taken? These are the pictures that are shown to be on a contact sheet. Are they from the CBS TV shoot that gave us the "demo" version of Surf's Up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The photos you refer to are not from the Surfs Up Session that was filmed in Dec 67.  I believe that they are actually from the post-Smile period- possibly during the Friends era? I believe that I have seen one photo from that set that also features Steve Desper-who was not involved in the Smile sessions.  unfortunately, obtaining precise dates for these photos is often difficult.  The information I have learned, however, tells me that there are alot of misdated photos in various books, etc.

If you are talking about the one of Brian in the Stripe shirt it is from mid 1968 to mid 1969. After that his hair was longer.

It's in the Stack-o-Tracks booklet. 1968.

You mean the CD version? The LP Stack Of Tracks had Brian on the beach in 1967.
