I thought I'd briefly explain why some dates of BB TV apps are different on the Gig/Sessions section of Bellagio than in Badman's book. 1)  The Beach Boys Taping of the Beach Boys/Raiders TV special has been dated to June 30 1969.  In a special issue of Billboard from 1976-celebrating 15 Big Ones- there were a number of photo montages (with ticket stubs, personal photos, etc). One item was Mike Love's 1969-74 passport photo. The photo is stamped with  US immigration stamps. It shows that he was readmitted to the USA on June 29 1969. Hence the show was taped before that date, not on June 30.   2) The Something Else TV app -taped in New Orleans (the clip of Cotton Fields in Endless Hatmony) is dated to May 28 1970.  This was a syndicated show that aired on different dates in different states. I have found ads that show it was already airing in some markets on Feb 14 1970 (advertised as from New Orleans). So it was taped prior to that date- though not much earlier, since they had just recorded the single version.   3) The BBs app on David Frost that was dated to Feb 1971.  In fact- a famous Crawdaddy interview proves that this taping was March 1.  The reporter also heard them do Cool Water and Wouldn't It Be Nice-which Badman claims were taped on May 7.    So- he reversed the apps.  The songs he lists as taped on May 7 were recorded on March 1 1971.  So the clip in Endless Harmony (Cool, Cool Water) is from March 1 1971.  As discussed in Jon Stebbins book, Dave Marks attended this taping (having hooked up with the group in Boston the day before), though he was not on camera with them.

Unfortunately. Would've been great to see footag of him with the boys from that era.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
