I am sure you've all heard of John Lennon's Jukebox - the songs JL borrowed from for many of the songs he wrote.  I have been thinking of a similar thing for BW/BB...I'll start us off with some easy ones:

Be My Baby - The Ronnettes & Don't Worry Baby
Sweet Little Sixteen - Chuck Berry & Surfin' USA
When You Wish Upon a Star - ? & Surfer Girl

Are there any particular songs by The Four Freshmen that Brian borrowed?  It doesn't have to be a complete lift (like Surfin' USA) - but feed me info about where his songs came from, his melodies, his ideas...

Would love to put together an extensive list but will need *lots* of help.

Of course you've got "Student Demonstration Time", Mike's re-write of Jerry Leiber/Mike Stoller's "Riot in Cell Block #9". Also has anyone noticed that Al's "new"-ish composition on Songs From Here & Back titled "PT Cruiser" is basically "409"? Also doesnt everyone here agree (I assume most would) that Don't Worry Baby is way better than Be My Baby? And another thing, does anyone know where Brian got the melody for "Winter Symphony" or if anyone has ripped-off Brian's melody after he wrote it or after it was released. I could've sworn Ive heard a song really similar to it.

Is this meant to be only "Brian's Jukebox" or "The Beach Boys' Jukebox"?
I think "Darlin" (and even "Thinking 'bout you baby") had a very similar melody to some older song that I can't remember.
GIOMH sounds alot like an old doo-wop-song I heard. I have to look if I can find the recording

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

My intial intention was to keep it exclusively Brian Wilson...but I am not a thread-Nazi, so post as you please.
