I was just wondering does anybody know what happened to Sharon Marie? Because the only info i know is from the "pet projects" CD liner notes.

She's a pill popping housewife. For a brief period she was a card carrying member of Charles Manson's family. She used to help fix the dune buggies on the Spahn Ranch and braid Susan Atkins' hair.

Earlier this year someone discovered a blog which certainly seemed to be her. Can I recall the url ? 'Course not. Said she was never Mike's girlfriend.
In 2001, she was married to a fireman. That's all I know.

Sharon Marie definitely seems to be a real "lost" element of the Brian Wilson story. I've often wished I could find out more about her, but info seems far and few between.
And by the way, "Thinkin' Bout You Baby" is AWESOME.

Basically, Brian produced two Capitol 45s for her:
10/63 - Runaround Lover/Summertime (the Gershwin number) 6/64 - Thinkin' 'Bout You Baby (proto- "Darlin'")/Story Of My Life
Real name Sharon Marie Esparza, she was about 15/16 when she cut the songs. Great voice for a teenager - reminds me of Helen Shapiro. "Runaround Lover" could have been a Honeys track, it's got that feel. Great early BW productions, too.

Huge bump - I'm in the middle of an email interview with Sharon Marie, and the detail she's supplying is just incredible (and she's also an extremely nice person too).

Oh well... interesting to know she recorded eight songs, mind. That's four more than she recalls. OK, 'nother little bit of info - "Summertime" was recorded in Brian's apartment, Mike on snare.

Summertime is awesome - one of the few extra-BBs Brian productions of the 60s that I like, I'm sorry to say.
