...Sadly, the Australian tour has been canceled, due to not enough tickets sold.
Oh no, that sucks! I guess not totally shocking or anything... Al is probably not well known outside the US... but that's a real shame. The economics of a larger band are probably not feasible for just a handful of dates there.

Updated the top post scheduled with the September setlists and also noted the apparent/likely postponement of the Australian tour dates.

Great! That's nowhere near me, but hopefully some NYC-area dates will pop up around it.

I guess at this point it's rather unlikely they'll come to Europe? :/

Al should consider "from there to back again" for the setlist. Feels like a song that's going to grow in stature as the years go by....

I was just going to mention that date (2/27), in case you hadn’t seen it yet, HeyJude.

I made it to the show and what a treat this moment was for the audience--the roar for Marilyn was as loud as those given to the earlier classic songs that were performed during the first set. Her duet with Jim Laspesa has now been posted on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x7qr9apzp0&list=RD9x7qr9apzp0&start_radio=1The LOVE YOU tracks were not presented in the order they appear on the LP, but that is a very minor quibble. Very strong ensemble harmonies throughout, while leads were somewhat more hit-and-miss--Rob Bonfiglio, solid on lead guitar throughout the night, was tentative in the first section of Dance, Dance, Dance, but after Mat Jardine nailed Brian's falsetto, he handled the key change quite well...later on, he pulled off a convincingly gritty lead for Sail On, Sailor. Al was in very good form, covering vocals originally sung by both Brian or Mike, with Darian taking Carl's. Gary Griffin joined Al and Darian for a deft "distributed lead" on I'll Bet He's Nice. Interestingly, the only lead that Al sang which happened to be his lead performance in on the original recording was Honking Down the Highway--no Rhonda (or Cottonfields or Then I Kissed Her, either). And the band's choreographed shtick at the end of Johnny Carson--which I think most already know about--was executed with tongue-in-cheek panache, and got a well-deserved ovation. Merchandisers also had a good night--a boatload of "Keep It Clean with Al Jardine" T-shirts were sold, with an increasing number of them visible in the audience over the course of the concert. A joyous (and touching) evening in downtown LA, which also included a brief appearance by Carnie and Wendy Wilson.

All this is awesome... Al and his band are rewriting history here. Can't think of anything else like this, in terms of recovering legacy.
