Man, do they sound great! And what about Matt?! Incredible

Can't wait to hear "Let us go on this way". One of my favorite Beavh Boys tracks of the 70s.

The new part of "Ding dang" fits very nicely.

Al probably will never become a Mick Jagger or Mike Love but I wish this band will get more attention. It certainly deserves playing to bigger crowds.

Uploaded this just for you! Wasn't planning to share and mostly didn't capture entire songs, but until someone more diligent comes along, it'll have to do Smiley

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Can't wait to see this band in Atlantic City in september. I hope they keep the setlist the same with all the love you songs sprinkled in with miu. They sound fantastic Matt Darien and the whole band. What a special show that looked like last night and I'm hoping what a special show this will be in Atlantic City when I'm in attendance. Thanks for the review it was great

Added Good Time and I'll Bet He's Nice, since people seemed to appreciate Let Us Go On This Way even though I didn't record the whole thing:

I want to highlight the extreme importance of this almost complete perfornance of "Love You". Up to now, it was "just" an album, albeit an awesomely great one. Now, it is something more, transcending an album... I lack the right word for that.

I appreciate Love You so much more now after hearing it's live performance. The vocals here, as well as the musicians, are incredible. And not only is Darian amazing, I think Rob does a great job too. Both of them blend perfectly with the Great Matt Jardine, who always brings his A game, and of course, Al. Would love to hear/see Sweet Sunday Kinda Love, if it's available.

Thanks so much for the clips, guys. I echo everything that's been said. This is amazing!!

It must be said too, the Love You music is very "Brian" music. Zany and fun, full of emotion and quirky little surprises.

I thought Rob was amazing! Pretty much every time he had a prominent part I was like, damn, great singer! (Check out his little moment at the end of I Wanna Pick You Up, for example!)

I missed this She's Got Rhythm clip. Wow, this is insane! I doubt the late '70s BBs would have sounded this good doing it live.

An absolute gem from Al Jardine, as reported on the EH Board:

"It was actually quite endearing to watch Matt guide his dad and help him get back on track when needed. Several times with a gentle hand on his shoulder. At one point Al recognized how much Matt was helping him and he quipped "I guess child really is the father of the man" and the entire band just cracked."

Rob sings really well, and has a great stage presence too!

Confirmed: they did ALL of Love You except Mona, Lets Put Our Hearts Together and Love is a Woman.

I have no words... this is the greatest tribute to Brian imaginable.

Way to go Al Jardine Pet Sounds Band!
Uh, no, the greatest tribute to Brian would be to play some of the GREAT music he created, not this train-wreck era of Love You.
I will never get what people hear in this material. It's embarrassing. It's juvenile. It never should have been released.

Do you also demand a toll to cross the bridge?

Voltaire was SO right.

Got home yesterday from a whistlestop visit to Boston from the UK to catch Al and the band at Cohasset! Was pleasantly surprised glancing at the setlist before the gig, seeing most of Love You and 3 songs from MIU! I now have a much bigger appreciation for Love You!

The band were in a great form, a few minor mistakes here and there - but it's only their second gig - and lovely to see Matt supporting and covering Al in places. Was so glad to have seen them. Too many highlights to mention, though getting to chat with Darian (and grab a pic!) at the end was so nice.

For those on FB, I posted a number of videos to the 'Celebrating Brian Wilson' group. For those not on FB, you may be able to view the content at https://www.facebook.com/groups/750294851734485/ . I posted lots of pics and 6 or 7 videos (I lost count!).

All of the posted videos were just wonderful. I never ever thought I would hear the vast majority of those songs live ever again, if at all. Watching the videos, Al's leads are really good, but at 82 you have to believe his full time touring days are probably nearing an end soon. Just watching the videos, it was just awesome of Matt to cover him vocally when needed, and to sort of keep him focused. But even one day when Al does call it quits, this band, fronted by Darrian(whose amazing vocally), Matt(who has been amazing for years now,) and Rob, should consider continuing as a Tribute yo Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys music....they are TREMENDOUS, and have so much to offer.

And just imagine Carnie (Rob's wife, btw) and Wendy with them...
