Today's song is It's Over Now. It's a terribly sad song----you can almost hear the darkness closing in. That said, it's wonderfully atmospheric with some great (sad) lyrics. Five. |

A very beautiful and melancholy ballad with great horn and string arrangements by Dick Reynolds. When I first heard this track (from the 30 years of good vibrations box) I thought Carl sounded a little drunk but apparently it was due to a tape-speed fault (it's still very effective that way). It sounds corrected on MIC. Either way, big FIVE! |

Carl sounds like he's not into it. His vocals seem slurred too, and it sounds like he's stuttering at one point "y-y-your gonna have to prove it to me" (about 1 minute 20 seconds into the song). The lyric about the cigarette is somewhat amusing. The chorus isn't too bad I suppose, best part of the song. Not their greatest. TWO. |
