Honestly not a favorite of mine. It's like County Fair Part 2 (and I actually prefer County Fair). My least favorite song from the Summer Days LP (yea, that means I like I'm Bugged At My Old Man better...)
Still though, the vocals are great and it's cool to hear Hal Blaine as the carnival barker.
THREE.

Count me in this camp too. Though I’ll rate it 2/5. Coming off of their mature Today! album this song feels like The Beach Boys went from being young adults finding their way through the world to going back to being 12 year olds. At the same time I know they’re just goofing off and having fun, my only main gripe is that creepy laughing that goes on in this track. Makes me skip it every time.

Today's song is Then I Kissed Her.
This song is worth 5. I think Al sings better than anyone who was produced by Phil Spector during 62-66―maybe except Tina Turner.

FOUR.
It's a great version of the song with Al in excellent vocal form. A rather faithful cover (minus the lyrics of course). Not one of my all time favorites, but a great song regardless. It certainly sounds great after putting up with the two-minutes and thirty-two seconds of Amusement Parks USA.

The backing track on this is outstanding. The sax playing in the second verse knocks it out of the park.

Girl Don't Tell Me
FOUR
Good song, very Beatle-y. I don't play this song too often, or add it to mixes usually. When I was a kid in the '70s my parents bought Endless Summer for my birthday and I always seemed to skip playing GDTM. But I don't dislike it, I do like it. Just not enough to give it a 5. Now the next song is a different story...

5 When Brian sings this in concert, he introduces it by saying that he wrote it for John Lennon. Unusual song for The Beach Boys at this time. No harmonies or fade out, relatively spare instrumentation. And Carl singing lead. He's a seasoned veteran in the group by this time, 18 years old.

This song really brings down Summer Days - boring melody with ear-attacking lead. Being kind, chose the vote "1" but in fact, 0. NB glad to see "Then I Kissed Her", definitive version with Al vocal, to get 2 "5"s & no "1"s/ "2"s. Al's MUCH better singer than Crystals could EVER be!

Perfect in every way. Al’s lead is fantastic, Mike’s bass vocals are perfect. The alternate single version isn’t at all better, but pretty cool that Brian had different vocal ideas for the chorus. 5/5

5 I really liked the instrumental track for the version on the Today album, but the vocal track (the harmonies, not Al's singing) was only okay. Glad that Brian realized that this song should be revisited. Turned a good song into a Classic. Rock on, Al!
