It would have been co-sponsored by Politics & Prose, DC's leading indie bookseller.
But if you put "mike love" "good vibrations" and "busboys" in Google now and click on the regular, non-cached page, nothing comes up, nor does the event appear in the calendar for Politics & Prose or at the Busboys & Poets site.
The feeling I have is that Mike recalled that Takoma was a big hippie town, and kinda mellow, so might be a good place for his reading/signing - and then was hipped to the fact that it's now filled with Gen X/Y/Mil kids who were big Bernie Sanders supporters; include a lot of Brianistas and plenty of Van Dyke Parks fans (and maybe even one or two who managed to make contact with Tandyn Almer when he was living across the Potomac); and therefore might not be all that keen on his remarks.
So far as I can tell, it wasn't cancelled because Mike lined up a show for that night, because I don't see anything on his site's tour calendar for mid-October.
