He'd be a top mathematician. I don't know what would've become of the rest of 'em.

I guess my response is, why is this even a thread - whether he was deaf in the other ear or both?  Yeah, it might have been a problem.  It wasn't.  Next?

Okay, okay, I hear what you're saying Debbie.

What if, like, Carl was named Steve instead?

What if Van Dyke was named Van Dick Parks?

SPOILER: He'd probably be very popular with the ladies. LOL

I think the albums would have been the same regardless of which ear.

Now... What if all of the band members were given their middle names for their first names, and their first names for their middle names. How would history be different?

Douglas Brian Wilson
Carl Dennis Wilson (confusing, I know)
Dean Carl Wilson
Charles Alan Jardine
Edward Michael Love
Arthur Bruce Johnston

Would Mike go by "Ed"?  "Eddie"?

Would Al go by "Chuck"? "Charlie"? "The Chuck-ster"?

Would the world know of the musical genuis "Doug" aka "Douggie" aka "Doogie" Wilson?

Would we be talking about "Art" and his mic adjustments?

This is important stuff, folks.  Grin

What if the Wilson brothers are actually the Baldwin brothers?

One Baldwin bro was on Al's album. Another is married to a Wilson Phillips member. And I imagine Brian has played some Baldwin pianos in his day.

That'll be his name in the Vivid Video parody of "Love and Mercy".

To forestall the seemingly inevitable, what if Brian were totally deaf, blind and incapable of speech ?

He'd be a pinball champion, of course, but that's beside the point, which is - what if people stopped  posting such stupid topics ?

It's trolling now to start a jokey thread?

I agree Emily.  A little humor on this board is most welcome.

This isn't humor. It's pointless. If Brian were deaf in his other ear, he's still have 50% hearing, and nothing would have changed. Bit like asking, what if the sky were blue.

It's a joke, Jesus. A parody of those pointless topics, taken to the extreme.

In a just world, all "What if...?" topics, even "parodies", would be relegated to a remote corner of this board.

A bit like the "Rank the Tracks" topics----only even more remote.  Grin
