I saw the reformed Kingsmen in concert many times in the 80's and 90's, but never saw the man who sang the song originally. Sad.

Jack sang my all-time favourite pop record. Ironically, by the time "Louie" took off, Ely was out of The Kingsmen----forced out in a farcical reshuffle.

R.I.P., sir. The record you sang on changed my life.
