With three tracks available now, I like them as a whole more than I like the individual songs. Listening to them in isolation, all three have sounded too slick and kind of bland. But listening to them one after the other, the sum seems greater than the parts. Anyone else having that experience? Maybe NPP will turn out to be especially coherent despite the guest vocalists?

(Although I still really hate the sound of Peter Hollens' voice when he first starts singing on "Our Special Love".)

Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into. (It became fine later on.)

I don't understand where all this "bland" branding is coming from regarding the new material.  Especially in light of the complete crap that was shoveled to us on GIOMH & TLOS.  This album is finally interesting and chock full of hooks.

72 year old Brian Wilson continues to deliver beautiful, personal and original music featuring the usual oddballs and wildcards (I'm talking about you, "Runaway Dancer". I love you!).

Hard to understand or not, these three songs didn't sound very interesting to me at first. But I like them more after listening to them one after the other. GIOMH and TLOS both have high and low points (but complete crap?). NPP might be consistently good, but I think I'll be way conservative and listen to the whole thing before comparing it to anything else.
