Would Brian have been visiting The Monkees TV Show on set?

 Don't know if this has been previously covered somewhere, but as I was checking stuff, I found a Bobby Sherman/Brian Wilson reference, which was on the Monkees TV Show.  Bobby was supposed to sing "New Girl In School" on this episode and "sorta" does, starting about 7:40; but what I found really interesting was the bit starting about 6:16.

Obvious to me - Brian played drums.

I think that bgas is referring to Bobby Sherman's second cry of "You're Under Arrest???" that sounds similar to H&V and was funny to check out. (And of course HEAD has been my favorite movie of all time since 1985.)

Of course, before that, no-one ever said "You're under arrest !" in the entire history of the whole world. Oh no.

Yes. I think Brian would've def been there if there were banana cake on the set.

Nesmith recorded some songs at Western didnt he, with the Crew?

Maybe Brian and Nesmith met there at Western.

And the rest is history.

Brian Wilson and Monkees connections:

- In the book of one of my Monkees cds (with the 3-d cover) are some liner notes from Brian saying that the Monkees music inspired him to write "Break Away". Give me some time to find the cd and I'll find the exact quote.

- Brian (who was supposedly in bed) was a frequent visitor at the home studio of Micky Dolenz during the early 70's. A lot of other famous people were as well which makes one wonder what exactly Micky is sitting on in terms of private recordings.

- The story in Micky's autobiography about tripping with Brian Wilson, John Lennon and somebody else. Damn, I wish I had that book close by but the story sounds very dubious.

- Oh, yes. Same studios. Same musicians. Same metropolitan area. I doubt Brian Wilson ever visited the set of filming because by now we would have heard about it or seen some pictures.

I never read Micky's book, but I'd guess the other person would be Harry Nilsson.

From Micky's I'm A Believer book pages 177-178:

My last experience with LSD was as at a Malibu beach house in the company of Harry Nilsson, Brian Wilson, John Lennon, et al. With those participants, you'd think it would have been a stimulating, inspiring occasion. Unfortunately, it was not. Harry went off into his own world; Brian, who was already long-gone even at that time, played just one note on a piano, over and over again; and John stood and stared into a swimming pool for four hours. What fun! I ended up sitting in the living room, watching the walls breathe and my hand turn into a snake, impatiently looking at my watch thinking, "Here goes the old hand-into-a-snake routine. I wonder when I can get out of here and go home to work on my gyrocopter?"

Very entertaining book but I have a hard time following that story.
