Zach and I have had this "in the works" for a couple months - a pop song with stylistic homages to Bacharach, Herb Alpert, and Pet Sounds/SMiLE-era BBs (of course!). I came up with the lyrics and vocal melody, pitched it to Zach, and he found the chords and played all instruments. Take a listen and let us know what you think

This song could be in a Google Play commercial, because there they have som real apps. Unlike the Apple Store.

Nice song guyes. I especially like where the horns kick in around the 2:20 mark.

Very cool! Besides Bacharach, it also reminds me quite a bit of Roger Nchols & the Small Circle of Friends. Love the horns after the 2 minute mark.

For starters, let me compliment Zach for great arranging work - you're a real master! Had nice countryside images while listening to this. Ego's vocal is marvelous! Only I didn't like the line "I just wanna lay down & die", with emphasis on the last word. Pretty suicidal, don't you think so? Otherwise, you both ruled!

Right, this was back on page two as well. I did take a mo' to re-read, and my comments are similar to all the rest - it has been awhile since I accessed it here on Smiley.
I like the new one, but I've been listening to this longer. Thanks for the info on who wrote and played what.
This is my favorite from this version of the Wrecking Two. Zach, you already know what I think of your stuff. Ego, you have a unique vocal style that fits this style you are doing very well. I love Bacharach/David. You guys nailed it. Cool bossa nova beat, and I love the horns too.
Have I found everything? There are 10 on SoundCloud from the two versions of The Wrecking Two. I've only been over on this part of the forum about four months, so give me a bit more time to absorb the tracks. Will comment on the new one soon. It's almost 5 O'clock here and this is my listening party night. I love Saturday. The one day I really take off to enjoy myself. Guests will be here soon. Think I'll spin some Dionne and Jobim tonight. Yeah, Wave or Stone Flower. This has got me in the mood.
Good luck to all of you guys. Looking forward to hearing more.
You should send this to Herb and Burt quick, a la what Brian tried with Sinatra. Might work. This song sounds very professional. And one more compliment. This stuff you are doing grows on me the more times I play it. That's important.
