That is silly and down right delusional of Al to say that...Like an early poster said, isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black? BUT I will say this for Al....It is a tie between Al and Carl as my favorite voice of the Beach Boys when it comes to lead vocals. I think Al has always had the most rock'n'roll punch in his delivery for somebody who's such a folk music fan. For example, I've always loved how Al sang "Come Go With Me" and "Peggy Sue"...and his line on "Strange Things Happen" is another all-time favorite moment on a Beach Boys album. I've been meaning to get Al's solo album but I haven't yet.
But, YES, that's very silly of Al to say that about Mike....and I have never liked Mike's singing.

At first glance, I thought the thread title was Jardine-related, too. As in, "Weird, Al Said . . ." There's no doubt it's Weird Al once you read the thread or click on the link, though.

Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

Aw, come on, ya'll know Al is correct. If it weren't for Brian's wonderful music, Mike would be pumping gas somewhere, Al would be a dentist, Dennis would've ended up in a home for juvenile delinquents, Carl would've worked for his dad, and Bruce would be modeling men's shorts for the Sears catalog.

Why do people always say Mike would be pumping gas? He would have wound up as a self-serve gas station convenience store clerk some time in the '70s or '80s when stations became self-serve. There was no future in the gas pumping thing so he would have found something, I'm sure. Especially with all those kids to support.

Am I the only one who took that answer as a joke? Considering other answers were also goofy? I mean, who else could be suited into that phrase "What's Love Got to Do with It?"?

Maybe he would have moved to Oregon.  We don't have self-serve.

Mike is pretty business savvy, he would have ended up owning the station after a few years, and had the high school cheerleaders out every Saturday washing cars.

I was watching the 1984 DC concert a couple nights ago, and I have to say, Mike's girlfriend at the time was very easy on the eyes.
