Threw this little Heroes & Villains mix together this week. I wanted to mix the "Early Version Outtake Sections" with my favorite bits and piece and still make it as a 3-4 min follow-up single to Good Vibrations.

Really nice flow to this one...love the small edits you made throughout the track. Great job!

very good indeed! flows realy nice..
I always wondered why did Brian abandoned "barbershop part-after 1st verse" with verse music underneath? It's seem it could flow very nice into ..well everything..cantina..barbershop quartet (3rd verse) ...boys/girls part...
Did anyone tried to snyc this barbershop part  with verse music underneath IN STEREO? would love to hear that!

excellent job! Don't think a single would ever end like that though...

Bit a newb at this. I made the youtube track public so I don't know if it works now for mobile...
if not, here's the dropbox link (with fixed cantina section):

I like it . . . A lot.  At first I didn't like repeating my children were raised, but the second slow version transitions seamlessly into the western theme.  Now can you work on the flip side, heroes part 2 with the Gee intro/heroes dit dit sit sections/Swedish frog/single chorus and fade to heroes?and maybe throw in the instrumental intro to heroes?

I'll see what I can cook up for a new version of  "pt2" Grin ...
Meanwhile, just for kicks, a not-so hi-fi "vintage Brian Wilson edits" smile mix compilation:

1- Our Prayer ('66 reel-Vigotone)
2- Heroes & Villains (Cantina version-MIC)
3- Do You Like Worms (Alt mono mix#2-Secret Smile)
4- Barnyard ('66 reel-Vigotone)
5- Wonderful   ('66 acetate-Vigotone)
6- Child Is Father Of The Man  ('66 acetate-Vigotone)
7- The Old Master Painter ('66 acetate-Vigotone/TSS)
8- Cabin Essence (Ok actually a mix of two '66 acetates-Alternate Sea of Tunes vol 2)

9- Good Vibrations (Alternate mix TSS-Not so sure it's vintage though)
10- Vega-Tables (April 1967 Assembly-Secret Smile)
11- Wind Chimes ('66 acetate-Vigotone)
12- The Elements pt.1 ('66 mono mix-SOT 17)
13- Surf's Up (backing track -GV box)

Bonus
14- Potential b-side # 1: You're Welcome  ('66 acetate-Vigotone)
15- Potential b-side # 2 Heroes & Villians pt.2 (Early Version Outtake-TSS)

I like it, especially how you transitioned to the fade.  There's that Brian mix/edit where all the "Heroes and Villains, dit dit dit" sections are there but the swedish frog is edited out - I wonder if that means he decided to use it elsewhere or felt it slowed the pace too much.  Supposedly the chorus of the single version was marked as "side two" as well as (if I remember correctly) the instrumental piano Heroes theme.  The last 'dit dit dit heroes" part kind of drags, I wonder if the Heroes chorus was put in there, and then the transition to Fade . . .

Anyway, nice work!  This would have made a fine "side two" to the single.

I tried to integrate the single version chorus but IMO it doesn't fit anywhere really except maybe as an intro instead of the "Bells & Whistles"... another mystery! Wink

Nice one, Nile! Pretty nice ending. Smiley

here's a little silly experiment I tried with the "California Feeling" demo.
