I was going to say brian got his affection when they worked together on the Reggie Dunbar affair...and supposively, he wrote some songs with him before he died. But i don't know if I could consider Breakaway part of that with Murry selling their catalog (assuming it was after they did Breakaway and had left Capitol, but thus, I can't remember).

yea I was referring to that  I'm glad they finally got close considering that up to that point it was always "The Tyrant" vs. "the Rebel without a cause"  ...wow that was cheesy but take me as I am

oh boy I'm sorry if I'm annoying people  but so far the only book I have is the concert book I was gonna wait for Jon Stebbin's rerelease of the "Real Beach Boy" to come out before trying to get the original.  This band fascinates me more than any other  .  but I'll take your advice use the search button, again I'm sorry

I looked in the search bar and this topic has been brought up many times so I'm sorry for that  but I also looked up the Murry Wilson cartoon.  this is a stretch but I wonder if Brian has seen any of them and if he did, how did he take it?

The Beach Boys FAQ - Jon Stebbins

You'll find a lot of your questions answered in them. One to avoid like the plague is Wouldn't It Be Nice - My Story: allegedly Brian's autobiography, it's nothing of the sort. A lot of the content is stolen from other authors.

And yes, the "search" function is your friend. Finally, if you're wanting simple basic facts, Bellagio 10452 is a damn fine website. I know this for a fact, because it's mine.

There are a few Murry cartoons and I encourage you to search them out. When I think of Murry, I think of the Rolling Stone article by Tom Nolan (search the board). I also think of the Help Me Rhonda vocal session from '65 and the earlier Beach Boys recording sessions on the Sea Of Tunes series. I think of his solo album and I think of his voice at the intro to Breakaway and a couple of the radio station clips.

"You know my father mixed all our early surfing records, he was like our producer in fact. Yeah, that's what he was. He'd produce our records though he really didn't get credit. He'd tell us to tighten up a bit, offer us discipline, and if we didn't do it he'd get really mad. It was almost like a pep talk: "Okay you guys, you're slacking off now, tighten up a bit" and sure enough we did".

Thanks for the letter link.. UNBELIVABLE.. Man that's a surprise + I have never seen that before and being an open minded person I see both sides.. Murry"s + BB... But Murry thought everyone was out to get them ..!  His paranoia  is over the top..  And he blames other people for actions that he doesn't like..  Murry like to beat a dead horse on everything.     Brian got SICK of listening to him.. Even when he was right.. And Murry attacks BW for being dishonest in business dealings.. WELL .. He had the last laugh on that by being dishonest + sick by selling BW music around him.. AND.. Not giving BW HALF the money at the very least in that deal..  Interesting Loren is mentioned at beginning of 1965.. Thought that was a little later.. And poor Audree + Dennis + Mike are mentioned also.. Very enlightening letter..

Ya know, I KNEW something wasn't right when you posted this, but I couldn't put my finger on just what!  The song is " The Plumber's TUNE ( not Mate). Knew it didn't seem right....
