'Ccording to that listing this is the Grand Canyon University Arena, Phoenix, Arizona show… I thought that the released live DVD was cobbled from several performances, so is this a different production? Or is my assumption crook?

It's probably the DVD pared down a bit - the concert DVD was filmed entirely in Phoenix.

Even without comparing venues I'm certain this is the case, complete with autotune & all. That TV station has all day live music every Dec 31st, and some years ago they had the Knebworth concert shortly after it had been released on DVD.

Good thing I boycotted the 2012 DVD. Smiley

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Why shouldn't it count? Smiley Personally, I'll set my HDR, if this abbreviation should exist (me no native English speaker).

Oh how cool it was to see them all together, having a ball. Very cool songlist that was showbn on TV. Was this from the DVD? It was only footage from Phoenix.
Don't have to talk about the sound and the - for a major act - frightening amateurish use of autotune. But it was The Beach Boys; one last time....

The engine-sounds during (!) 409 were new to me (I'm no fan of those cheesy sounds) and I thought at first it was my brother farting.

Looks like it. Thanks!
I never got the DVD so I don't know what's on there.

Soundwise, I found it kind of sterile... I can understand those who bickered about the sound. I'm even more glad now that I didn't buy the DVD. Some Brian vocals were so obviously not live... And still, I'm going to burn my recording of the broadcast to a DVD... Smiley

Bummer that they cut Catch A Wave and Hawaii to fit the 1 hour time slot for the broadcast. They should have cut "All This Is That" instead, although that song was a good opportunity to go visit the bathroom. Grin
