This album I think fascinates me more than pretty much any other in the BBs catalog I think. It's the culmination and aftermath of the collapse of Smile and why Brian decided to go this direction and why he under-produced it so much is a question most fans tend to ask when they first listen to it. I wish there were more insight on the sessions besides that 2 min radio interview, the legendary Carl quotes and the Unsurpassed masters.

I'll give a vote here: Whistle In. It's just not a track that I've got into to date, could be to do with its position at the end of the album, makes it feel like an afterthought. Disappointed to read a few Gettin Hungry votes, love the organ sound, love slave-song vibe of the verses and Brian's *awesome* 'come the night time' line! and I enjoy the chorus But hey, this is what Beach Boy Survivor is all about! |
