I was at the 1981 show at Greek Theatre and I agree with most of what was written except : The show came to a complete halt after the Bruce Dennis incident because Dennis kicked his complete drum set off the riser onto Mike who had to get out of the way fast.! There was a break there and when the band came back Dennis didn't come out right away.. Funny thing was BB sounded way better than 2 weeks before at Queen Mary Long beach..They redeemed themselves..The sight of Dennis Standing on top of white grand piano waving talkin weird + funny was Priceless  And he was out of control.! The audience was laughing but there was tension also wondering what Dennis was gonna do next.. Ive seen some strange things at concerts but this nite has to rate at top of the list..!

Even though it is scorned by everybody now, it seems like Brian's alleged autobio had a big influence on how a lot of fans perceive the members of the band. In that so-called book, a lot of Dennis' indiscretions are mentioned, but they are all forgiven because, after all, Dennis didn't know what he was doing, because he was so screwed up on dope. Mike, on the other hand, is portrayed as evil incarnate. Even Carl is portrayed as a bad guy in that book. The Brianistas should be happy the C50 ended, Brian no longer has to work with Satan. I wonder how well all of us here on the board would fare if our lives were under the microscope like the BB's?

I don't see how the interview paints Mike as anything other than a rock star who lived through the 60s in a band that includes some drug casualties.

Nor is it like Mike's dropping some highly guarded secret regarding Brian's drug use. Brian himself has always been rather candid on the subject, so there's really no reason for Mike to bite his toungue, but it would be nice if interviewers got a bit more creative with their questions.

Sure, but please understand: it's not so much the information, but how and why you put it out there.... If someone wants to go to my bandcamp, fine, but putting up such info as a comeback and to make fun of me, was probaby not the best move. Im actually old enough to have actually enjoyed the BB for 51 yrs and nothing they do keeps me from enjoying their music or respecting them personally. They are human + frail and stupid and make mistakes like the rest of us..The mistakes they make actually add to their charm..Im allways rooting for them like a father to his children even tho they are 10 yrs or more older than me.. Its probably why I tear up during certain songs in concert..Their music tugs at the heart strings for me especially now as they  age. Kinda like rooting for Rocky in the movies.. We are very  lucky to grow up in a time period where we actually saw BB live and experienced their ups + downs.. Instead of reading about them after they are all gone.. In a history book.. And this is from someone who knows full well I could never be friends with at least 2 of them maybe 3.. And im not gonna explain why on this forum..  I love the greatest American R+R band in USA..THE BEACH BOYS.....!!!!!!!!!!
