Chicago has just released an original song on iTunes, "Somethin' Comin', I Know".  Robert Lamm lead vocal (with Lee Loughnane chiming in briefly).  Not exactly a stellar tune; the mix sounds a bit like a demo.  But still, this is a step in the right direction for the band.  For years they've been playing it safe, putting out Christmas albums, greatest hits compilations, and even crappy re-recordings of their own songs.  Nice to see a return to original material.  They also released a pretty spiffy cover of "More Today Than Yesterday" a few months ago (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/more-today-than-yesterday/id662912748)

I'll have to check this out.  I don't know anything about Chicago, but I bought their greatest hits and was really impressed.  I like how conversational some of their songs are... they don't even rhyme in some instances, but they just really have a lot going on, very good stuff.

I've heard, in the past, that at one point they were a pretty straight forward Rock act but kind of got more and more away from that as the years went on.  At the end of "Only the Beginning" they get pretty heavy.

I've been meaning to listen to a bunch of their stuff but haven't taken the time yet.

Kinda catchy song but the production is cheesy as hell.
