I met Peter Noone at one of those oldies shows once at the Concord Pavilian. Real down-home personable guy. You'd never know he was ever a pop star. No ego. He paid more attention to my 15 year old daughter at the time who went with me. Must have held up the autograph line for 5 minutes while he leaned over and talked to her about music and piano lessons.

He deserves to be opening for The Boys. Plus, I still like his group - I think they're called "The Hermits" or something like that.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

I wonder if people still call him Herman? Wink

The Hermits were a staple on AM radio during the peak years '64-'67. Many terrific tunes. Brings a smile just to recall.

That's a great opening act isn't it? About 20 hit singles including some classics.

Saw him open for The Monkees back in the 80's. Cool stuff. It fits the radio nostalgia trip Mike enjoys.

I've seen Peter Noone perform a couple of times.  Very entertaining guy.

Only guitarist Lenny Davidson and Dave Clark himself are left on this earth from the DC5.....

But (and I just checked Wikipedia to be sure) all members of the classic Hollies quintet are still with us. Which may make it the very last of the classic '60s groups with its hitmaking lineup intact. (Or the last one in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame anyway....)

Peter Noone's still one of the good 'uns. I always think of him in connection with his magnificent teamup with another of Her Majesty's subjects....

That subject line looks awfully close to "whining."

You must like everything Mike Love does or you will be banned.

And how.

What's the point of this thread, anyway? OP must want Michael and Bruce to open for Peter Noone, I guess...

Flo and Eddie would make good openers as well.

Allan Clarke retired from the Hollies in 99 and by the R&R Hall of Fame in 2010 had to be persuaded by Nash to sing  dual lead. His voice was weak probably from his years of smoking. Saw them about 89 and still sounded good then.

Obviously I wasn't there to judge, but reading this made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Sad

So the two left in the staff have to be more productive. Capitalism, you know! Wink 2

I really don't think that's what Mikey meant. Careful here.

It was not supposed to be a joke, if you mean that. I happen to work with 14-15 year olds, many of which are girls, and I do have fatherly feelings for them, so I hope I didn't hurt Mikie's feelings.
