........and to clarify, that's the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, not Berkeley (darn!).

Billed as "Brian Wilson with Al Jardine & David Marks".  Brian's band will be backing them up.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Not really...Brian has played the Hollywood Bowl all by himself.  The Greek is significantly smaller than the Bowl.

My guess is less than half the size of the Hollywood Bowl.  It can get chilly outside at night in October.

I wonder why they're playing it so late in the year. Perhaps they'll line up some other gigs for the summer. Outdoor venues and fairs usually start releasing schedules in April.

I will go if I can get tickets, for sure. I do wonder what this means for the BB. I still contend that "next year" will see some full-band shows, and I still contend that 2013 will see a new BB album. I'll bet Mike and Brian are chewing it over right now.

Wow October seems far away.  This is currently a subscription gig, I hope that doesn't use up too many of the good seats.

Does that mean only season ticket holders?  Sorry, I ought to go to the Greek site and see what they have going. Thanks

So, after totally dissipating the C50 momentum, you expect the band will just pick up the reins over a year later and just carry on as if nothing had happened ? Whatever you're on, I want some.

The "membership" site facts:  http://pmcla.com/page.cfm?id=1064
basically, it doesn't cost to join; the least amount of shows you can pick is three( silver level) and ( I think)  you only have to pay now for shows prior to  August 1st.
Members  only have until March 23 to order their Brian tickets; after that ??
It appears to me you can order up to 40 seats in each price level, but there's something in the faq about 8 seats, so check it out!

I think it depends on how lucrative the C50 tour was, compared to the Mike and Bruce version of the BB's.  Maybe Mike and Bruce make more than C50 did.

So would this show still be open to the general public at some point?

The ad for the show, in yesterday's L.A. Times, reads "Brian Wilson, Co- Founder of the Beach Boys, with Al Jardine and David Marks"

Well, Andrew, I understand the doubt of you and Awesoman, but let's hope for the best. I don't think we have heard the last of the "Beach Boys." And I mean the 5 of them.

I think we see a tour in 2014 at this point. The boxset will probably have album outtakes from last year, so all is not lost.

Though David Beard said to watch for a new album this year.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Yes. We can let it go and still hope secretly that our wish will come true.  I will set the issue aside until we hear something concrete.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
