The weird thing is, during the mid-late 50's they were actually one of the BEST companies at producing nice sounding vinyl in the US! Frank Sinatra fans will know what i'm talking about, I have some lovely grey label Capitol pressings of Sinatra's albums "Come Fly With Me" (1958) and "Songs For Swingin' Lovers" (1956) and they sound fantastic! They actually haven't bettered the sound on those Capitol Sinatra albums even 55+ years later! There's a million threads over on Steve Hoffman's forum about this issue and one of their guys (Bob F) is basically the Sinatra's fan bases version of Andrew G. Doe!

No, but there was a Stars & Stripes cassette tape and "The Making of Stars & Stripes" DVD's with different packaging variations. And Stars & Stripes promo sunglasses. And a Stars & Stripes EEE HAW cowboy hat....

I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Some guy on a bored I use to post on said he had two pairs of S&S sunglasses and that he'd send me one, but he never did.

Shornuffpardnur!
Of course there's no hat( or I'd have one, right?)
I thought the sandpail( 1/2 filled with sand) along with a sandshovel/scoop, a pack of redhots, the cassette and CD single of "Hot Fun In The Summertime" was a much better promotion, done for SIP( I'll try somehow for a pic of that....

Hey! My sand pail didn't come with sand! How'd you get that??
Got this? Got it for a five fingered discount. But you don't collect CD's, right?

I knew a salesperson for Navarre, so I got the sand...
And yeah, I have that CD. I don't really collect CDs anymore, tho I don't know exactly when I stopped, just that I did.

What happened to the frisbee - your dog got hold of it or you threw it and it hit a telephone pole?

You mean with or without the worm on the cover?
My damn 15 Big Ones frisbee is cracked too. Dunno how it happened - I've never taken it out of the house. Mighta happened during the partying days at my house and somebody grabbed it out of my closet to do lines or roll J's on it and got overzelous with it..........gotta find another one. My 15 Big Ones kite and hanging mobile and posters are still mint though. Same with the Love You promo stuff. WB put a LOT of money into promoting The Boys back in the 70's.

Looks like your brutha has a frisbee on Ebay for $5( with a 3 inch crack) http://www.ebay.com/itm/121061799000
next cheapest is $19.95 or best offer( no crack) bet they'll take $10...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181056273012
and then there's this seller that feels it's worth $59.95( Derek would like him better, keeping the values up): http://www.ebay.com/itm/370672668464 in his description, he notes these must be rare, because you never see one! and he's right, there are three at the moment...
Uuhhh, (editing) I noticed I should have noted Ebay also has a photo from 1986 of some guy catching his 15 Big Ones frisbee at a BBs concert:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280888729485
And you're right,Mikie! WB put out a ton of promotional stuff, for the short time they had them. Way more than Capitol, it seems. Different Era? Deeper pockets/bigger tax break?

60 smackers for the frisbee? Shiiiiit. I'll Crazy Glue mine back together for that. 20 bucks is more like it. Can't have any cracks in it - it wouldn't be an upgrade. Don't think the frisbee was made by Wham-O. Never seen a Wham-O frisbee crack like that. Musta used cheap plastic....
