"The Rocking Surfer" is a traditional song, only with 'new' lyrics, but it's not credited as 'Traditional' like "Boogie Woodie" is, and I wonder why... Also, everyone knows that "South Bay Surfers" is actually the song "Old Folks at Home" by Stephen Foster, and he's not credited either.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Not at all, I just don't appreciate the idea of not-crediting a composer in a song, even if it's not a standout in a album. I bet if it happened to Brian you guys would be really angry...

The writing credit for "The Rocking Surfer" on the Surfer Girl album says "Traditional; Arranged By Brian Wilson". It was probably just an oversight for this re-release. It's happened before.

The original title for this song was "Good Humor Man". And before that, a song called 'Come And Get It' by the Tri-Five used that same melody.

Looking back on the credits for previous releases, I have:

South Bay Surfer (Foster/B. Wilson/D. Wilson/Jardine)
The Rocking Surfer (trad., arr. Wilson)
Boogie Woodie (Rimsky-Korsakov, arr. Wilson)

Again, probably an oversight for the 2012 remasters release.

Or that darn Brian Wilson is trying to get more credit than he deserves again. Chip off the ol' block of his old man, eh?  Cheesy

Well, I do hope it's only an oversight

Probably just a copyright thing; maybe they bought out Stephen Foster

Looks like Al lost his credit on South Bay Surfer, too!

They put a "Brian's Back" era group photo on the back of "Surf's Up" so is it shocking that they would make an error on a relatively obscure album track?

Happened to him on MIU.  "Kona Coast" uses parts of "Hawaii," but Brian didn't get a writing credit on it.

And "Little Bird", while obviously using the chorus from "Child is Father of the Man", doesn't have a Brian credit either.

And Al has no credit for his extensive changes to Cottonfields while Mike did get one for his added verse in Under the Boardwalk.
