I have to ask because I just gave it a listen for the first time in a few years and it really is an awful, awful song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6U2ubpBd28

I like it. It's a catchy tune, short (2:29), and Mike sings it well. Actually, I worked it into my Beach Boys' Christmas comp, right after "Mele Kalikimaka" and before "I'll Be Home For Christmas". It works quite well.
The part I don't like is the kids' voices. I wish Mike would of used harmonies instead.

I've never heard it. I can never bring myself to click on a link to it. Maybe I will tonight. If I'm drunk enough.

First time I've heard this song and I didn't enjoy it in the slightest. Awful video as well.

I like this song a lot, but I don't respect it. I even bought a CD compilation it appeared on. (Along with a few songs that Mike and Christian sing backup on)
Fun fact, when they played it live they had Ambha's recorded line as a keyboard sample.

I like it, fun little Christmas song. Is it really that far removed from something like Santa's Beard?

Normally, I tend to cut ML a little slack, but this song is just the kind of thing that causes people to make fun of him. It's like a parody of Mike. Except it's really Mike! Hey Mike, how about Rudolf's Still Cruisin? Frosty the Snowman's Summer in Paradise?

It's sh*t, but I don't think Mike intended it to be a piece of art up for discussion; as such, the OP's got the kind of posts from the kind of people you'd expect, including the inevitable and petty, "Well, it's no worse than [insert BW song he doesn't like]" kind of sh*t that this sort of thing always generates.

I don't approve the concept but I think it's well produced and the guitar solo is good.

I just watched this under the influence of fungus (no kidding) and now I can't get the image of Santa getting a sunburn from surfing on his sleigh out of my mind. It has been burned permanently. Why did I click on the YouTube link? Why??
I feel terribly sorry for the animators who worked on it. Wow. I've heard of this song for many years and probably even had a copy of it somewhere but managed to avoid it until now. This has NO soul at all. I can see why some people might like the video per se but...I'll just leave it at that. Very interesting that Andrew is a fan.....

I really like it! It reminds me of my first trip to Maui, which happened the week after it was released! It was stuck in my head almost the entire time!

I wish there was a message board for people who like Mike's solo material (that has intelligent posters).
