These books are generally pretty sound - the Song Cycle book is amazing - so I'm kinda ready for them to tackle Smile, especially since it'll be the first book to deal with it as a released product.

I now work at Bloomsbury, so I can get these cheap! Has anyone read the Pet Sounds one?

Nope, though it's been sitting quietly on my amazon wishlist for a couple of years now.  Tongue

Good news about the SMiLE one, though. Guess I'll just order both of 'em, then.

Looking forward to this. Enjoyed the Pet Sounds book, and appreciated the Song Cycle book too.

Looking forward to so much stuff in the coming weeks  and months that I'm going to have to get some work to pay for it.

Should be cool. I still have yet to read the Pet Sounds one; after owning and reading both Kingsley Abbot' and Chuck Granata's books on PS, I suppose I felt the 33 1/3 book a little much. I'm definitely gonna pick up the SMiLE one though.

And why haven't they done a book on Odessey & Oracle?

I have the Pet Sounds 33/13 one. Really short and really enjoyable.
I can't recall if it was accurate or not but found it a nice addition to the library.

Thanks for the link. Excited about this!

I read the Pet Sounds one which was pretty good. I've also read there's A Riot Goin on, Forever Changes (this one was pretty cool iirc), Music from The Big Pink, Highway 61, Songs In The Key Of Life versions of these. They tend to vary in quality depending on the author's take. For instance Big Pink is a novella about a fictional character who gets to hang out with the Band during recording of their debut i.e. AGD's worst nightmare. Pet Sounds is pretty straightforward as far as I can remember and probably one of the more enjoyable of the series.
