So just recently I came across a soul singer the other day named Al Green he's pretty good, he has a few songs that I like that I'd love to share with you guys..Do any of you like his music? It has a soulful/gospel feel to it...
If you guys haven't heard of him you should check em out you might like some of his work..(If you're into R&B/Soul)

Al Green is a legend ! I must admit though that I can't listen to too much stuff of his in a row. I'm more into Joe Tex, etc.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Often, his songs had very interesting chord progressions. For instance, LET'S STAY TOGETHER has a wonderful chord sequence that does not repeat itself. It also has a few key changes. It reminds me a little bit of  The Beach Boys' THIS WHOLE WORLD, in that way.

I don't know. It's just not something I could listen to for hours like I can with other stuff. I guess it's just my taste. I think he's a great singer but not as low down as the stuff I'm attracted to

It's so strange seeing you post about how you've never heard of Al Green, damn I must be getting old.

I agree with your first song, my favorite of his is "I'm Still In Love With You".

Well I know who Al Green is now. Smiley He's pretty decent but Marvin Gaye does Soul/R&B better imo.

Yeah, I suppose so.  Why do you always feel the need to judge and rate everything, though?  Does it make Al Green any less fantastic if Marvin Gaye 'did R&B/Soul better" whatever that means?

There's nothing wrong with saying Al Green is great, without finding somebody who's better.

With ALLLLL that said, marvin Gaye and Al Green are completely different from each other.  So you basically just compared another black guy you could think of to him.   WTF?
