When I uploaded it, someone on this forum made a snide remark along the lines of "yeah we get it, upload from that film, it gets taken down, what's new".

Talking out of their arse, in this instance.

I like all the roles, except for Dennis (imo the worst character from the whole cast) & Al on this film. Though Al in another one is bad too imo. Seems like it's difficult to find an actor with more or less similar to Al appearance.
That said, I'd rather prefer Summer Dreams than An American Family. Though the latter has some good moments as well, f.ex. Dennis's playing and singing at the piano talking to his father and him listening to what Denny composed, i.e. Forever. One of the few finest episodes of that movie.

But after all, I still wait for the better BBs-oriented film.
yes he has a very gremlin look to him..i'm sure if they aren't related to him there won't be another al looking character lol..
my favorite thing about this movie is they have the years all f***ed up lol...like when they watch the monterey pop festival brian is the only one with a big ass beard and i dont think any of them have beard around that time do they?
he sits in the corner and listen to sgt. pepper all day...wtf? lol and then dennis said what if they performed their oldies and it was only a few years from surfin safarie so how the f*** are they oldies? lol

Yes, there are many mistakes in the plot but I somehow enjoy SD more than An American Family where Mike's shown as a very bad person, all those cliches about him etc. Also, what's with Marilyn who looks like some model? Not saying that real Marilyn isn't good-looking but that was too much to choose an actress with such face to play Brian's wife. So, there are flaws in AF as well.
the real marilyn looks hot as f*** Smiley for some reason i find her extremely attractive...even carnie wilson is pretty in the face...when she became skinny she was totally do-able..(i know some of you are gonna freak out on me for saying that because it's offensive or whatever but it's true)...i like the fact that mike is a little bit chubby in the movie it's hilarious...it's great that they focus a bit more on dennis "I got the burgers, got the fries, got the coke..." lmfao

For all it's problems, I think Summer Dreams is more "real" with some parts of The Beach Boys's story. Like the scene of the group performing with a drunk Dennis just banging away, not paying attention to the song, and then the part where he tries to basically make a drug deal on stage through the microphone. I'm pretty sure all of that actually happened. Then there's the "cocaine sessions" scene. I think that some of the actors were much better too. I think the guy who played Brian in Summer Dreams puts the one in An American Family to shame. The 1964-ish hair style is fairly accurate. His Pet Sounds era hair style and bushy side burns are perfect. He nails the 1983-85 looking Brian. The guy has to much of a New Jersey/New York "tough guy" accent though.  Grin

Why did they cast such a fat actor for a young Mike Love? The newer film blows this crap away just on casting alone.
