What a shame that our collective interest in the music of this rock group(whose music was supposed to bring positive feelings and joy) has descended to this mud slinging and ugliness, a negative thing that may yet repell a fair amount of people from ever wanting to listen to Beach Boys music again. As for secrecy (whether from Capitol or others), this is Rock n'Roll music. It isn't the Manhattan Project, Ya' know?

Also, regardless of what he's been up to lately (and I do hope he's better), Alan Boyd's name is going to be connected to this campaign because he remastered Sunflower and Surf's Up in 2009 - they're using those remasters.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

I think I'm going to go listen to some Beatles music for a while. To use one of my 1960's American hippie-isms, this situation has become "a bummer".

I will step over your pitiful comments as I would a dog turd on the sidewalk. That said, should you continue to make such allegations, I will seek out your residence in Florida and burn it down, with your entire collection of records, CDs and bootlegs in it.
I'm just a lurker here and I do enjoy your posts on this great board one million times more than PhilCohen's, but this is crossing the line for me. Can't we just ignore him, how hard that may be...or ban him. SmileySmile.net shouldn't be a place filled with agression and threats.
You have to be kidding, right? Not a place for aggression? You must not lurk here very often, then. Andrew can defend himself, but Phil asks for it every single time. You would think after all the times this has happened, that he'd learn his lesson. Honestly, I think he enjoys it. Others piss & moan about the aggression more than Phil, himself does.
Yeah, well I tend to read only valuable information, so maybe I've missed this kind of reactions before. I read a lot of other forums (frank black, guided by voices, kristin hersh, weezer, to name a few) and these kind of posts are not tolerated over there. But you know, maybe I should just not care about it.

I hear ya. This stuff goes on here, but it usually fades pretty fast. I will say though, that you do need a thick skin in here, sometimes.

I'm only 22 so maybe i'm off base on this, but didn't records drop rather quietly in the days before the internet? Fans weren't informed every step of the way.

Phil you are giving yourself far too much credit here. Nobody is going to stop listening to the Beach Boys just because you can't refrain from posting endless bollocks on a message board.
