I find the moment when the garage door opens and the guys turn to the camera and smile very touching, for some reason. Doesn't matter how young or old you are...The Beach Boys will always be there. ...in your garage, apparently. |

Bikinis + Surfboards + Hipsters = Really shouldn't work. I don't hate it but it's obviously nothing special. I did like the cheeky quick shot of Mike/Mike's hat towards the end though. In fact I think it's avatar worthy.

It is okay. In the same vein as the videos for "Getcha back" or "It's gettin' late" only a little more tasteful. But the boys' appearance at the end was not very well imo. It looks so cheap and stereotype (almost like the Beach Boys were about to party with the young ones). They should've shown them playing the song in the garage while the young people stand their in awe and watching tem. That would be a cool ending but now it is more like a withdrawn dream of an old guy who can't accept that he is just that.....old

Here in Germany lots of stuff on YouTube isn't available due to German laws. The lyric video wasn't either. Try Firefox with the ProxTube add-on, works most of the time, worked for me this time, too. |

I like that the images/hairstyles/cars, etc. seem to belong to all periods from the 60s to now; that sense of timelessness is appropriate to the theme of the song. The video occasionally captures the wistfulness of the track as well, but I wish we could just get away from the beach/surfing imagery (impossible, I know).

Y'know, I didn't think it was so bad. Wasn't sure if they could blend 1960s California, cars/girls/surfing with today's hipsters... but I think they pulled it off pretty well. Love You cover was a nice touch.
