Ah man, this is torture being that I don't own a TV.

Looking forward to the DVD release

Bro. Just do a mix of Surf's Up with the Colonel's March, and I will send you a TV. Standard definition, of course.

I wonder what that song was that didn't make TWGMTR. It sounded very pretty. Perhaps "I'd Go Anywhere"?

LOL! Not sure if I'll be able to syncopate it to Murry's standards.

How long is the special? My TV guide thing slots it in for an hour, but the description says 87 minutes.

Just finished watching the show and have to say that it was really well done.  Once you let go of the idea that it's not a full concert show it really works as a great abbreviated and newer version of the "Endless Harmony" documentary (even though they glaze over a few key areas post Pet Sounds!).  Great interviews and everyone is represented pretty well.  There were only maybe 4 or 5 complete songs, the highlight being a good version of "Sail On Sailor"...can't wait for that one to appear on Youtube.  The concert footage wasn't as bad as I expected.  They could need some spicing up but it served its purpose in the context of this show.  But I do hope they film a NEW show for the DVD and not use one of these shows.  Brian was quite talkative in the newer interview pieces and it was very refreshing to see.  They used a few scenes from the interviews we've seen at Western and Ocean Way but there was a good addition of newer stuff.

This would not work so well as a single DVD release but would be a FANTASTIC bonus feature on the live DVD--which is where I hope to find it in the near future.

That's putting it nicely, they literally skip everything between "Good Vibrations" and the new album....I don't even think "Smile" was mentioned.

All of the concert vocals sound autotuned (including Mike, Brian, and the backing vocals), especially "Sail On, Sailor."  I didn't really enjoy the concert clips due to that.

Right on, Justin. I enjoyed every minute, especially Dave demonstrating his and car's guitar parts for Surfin USA and also the strumming for Surfer girl. The life concert was supplemented with studio (album actually) overdubs or substitutions--that was obvious for the title track, but it sounds like they used as much of the actual recording live as they could, with the sound men likely having botched things and with the BB still unsure of the complex changes of TWGMTR.  Interviews were thoughtful, intimate, informative and warm.  Another great success and joy.
