Dennis called "Susie Cincinnati" a "silly piece of sh*t," circa 1976.

I think I'd prefer it on SUNFLOWER over "Tears on the Morning" or "(We'll Take a Bath w/ Bruce and) Deirdre." Sorry Bruce, but one tune was enough from you and Al is an original Beach Boy with a catchy car song.
I think Susie woulda fit on Sunflower somewhere as TITM would be left off or made just a b-side.  Grin

"Well, you reached out to me too, David, and I'd be more than happy to fill Bgas's shoes. You don't need him anyway - some of us have the same items in our collections as he does and we're also much better writers. Spoiled brat....."

I've been thinking about this thread for a while because as much as I (and most of us) love the Boys, it's definitely easy to find some clunkers along the way, with 50 years to choose from.  Thankfully, I think most of their worst offenders wouldn't be considered for inclusion.  That said, many "career spanning retrospectives" for Pop artists try to cover most of the band's singles, which makes me glad that "East Meets West" and "Happy Endings" WEREN'T released through Capitol.  At the time, someone obviously thought every single release was a good idea but there's definitely no reason to don't bring any modern day attention to those two.

While also not on Capitol, I would like a remastered version of Chasin' The Sky. While the song is not written by any of them, the vocals are just spectacular.

The Brianista Prayer

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.
Amen.  ---hypehat

I'd rather Susie were the b-side, San Miguel and/or Lady were on Sunflower, and Tears In The Morning was abandonded on some derilict former nuclear waste site and convieniently forgotten about...

"Bluebirds Over the Mountain" was excluded from the 1993 Box as well as SOUNDS OF SUMMER and THE WARMTH OF THE SUN. It may be due for a revival.

Not all editions, if I recall correctly.

Yup, I think it's a solid 'b list' song, just good enough to peek into a few greatest hits/compilation type albums.  I'd be interested in hearing any alternate takes or mixes of it.

Okay, this isn't a "song" per se, but...we definitely DO NOT need yet another inclusion of Carl's "Well, the music does have a spiritual quality..." quote...that's been overused..almost as overused as that "Surfer Girl" clip from the TAMI Show.
