For me it's either Wild Honey's "Country Air" or Sunflower's "All I Wanna Do".   At least far as I know these have never appeared on anything but the original albums.  If the "career spanning boxed set" coming out soon includes the stereo version, vocals only or stereo backing track of either of these songs I'll by it just for that alone!

"The Lonely Sea" from SURFIN' USA. I can see that it never shows up on the greatest hit comps but for heaven's sake not even on the GV Box???

I don't get it, either. It's one of the most simple and beautiful pop ballads I'v ever heard. It's haunting. And the spoken part is great, too. I'd love to see the 1963 video clip of Brian "singing" this at the beach in remastered quality on a DVD someday...

Country Air appears on The Greatest Hits Volume 3, but you're right - hasn't been put on a comp in the CD era.

"All I Wanna Do" has never made a compilation? Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

Also, amirite in that "Your Summer Dream" was only featured on the original album, too? One of their absolute best early songs imo

"Your Summer Dream" finally appeared on the "Summer Love Songs" compilation from 2009.  Agreed that it's one of the best early songs.  Beautiful.

Like the rest, I'm also completely flabbergasted "All I Wanna Do" has never appeared on a compilation.  It's an elite song that ranks with the best songs the band ever released.  From the writing to the production, it's just about perfect.  It's criminal so few have been exposed to that song.  Hopefully that will change soon.

Celebrate The News -one of Dennis' most imaginative, inventive songs, and in my opinion superior to its A-side.

The first songs that popped into my mind were already mentioned above..."Your Summer Dream" and "It's About Time".  I agree with those who mentioned "Lonely Sea".  I'd also add "It's A Beautiful Day", "Farmer's Daughter", and "Keepin The Summer Alive".
