Liverpool IPO ( International Pop Overthrow ) May 2012

For those in the North-West of England ( or thereabouts ) something of interest.
There are loads of great Bands/Musicians playing , all genres of music

At this years Liverpool IPO there are few things going on for BB's fans ,
on Saturday 19th May there is a Beach Boys Britain get together as below link , or check out the BBB Board

Also we ( Surfs Up ) are playing at The Cavern on the 19th @ 9pm, sadly a short set ( 45 mins ) but very much a thinking mans BB's set i.e Deeper cuts.
And also on the 20th @ 12 noon in The Cavern Pub , again a short set but including a few hits.

Also of interest is the fact that the Italian Band 'The Sunny Boys' are appearing that weekend as well

Hi Craig , sadly I think you will have to do backing vox from the crowd ( if there is one :-) ) as I think we are going to have a real big problem getting the 11 of us on stage ( yes it really does take that many to do the BB's any justice live , we do our best and hey and we have a 2 part Brass section sounds awesome on Darlin' )...
I believe the BBB Event is really close to the Cavern , however I hope there are a couple of pubs between the 2 ;-)

The IPO usually gets a pretty big crowd, actually. (Too big for me. I did my (so far) only solo gig ever there -- my band had split up a couple of weeks earlier and I foolishly honoured the commitment. The Grammy-nominated multi-chart-song-writing songwriter Seth Swirsky was on before me. I wasn't *quite* as good as him. There's a reason I've never done a second solo show, even seven years later )
I'll be coming along so long as you're on on time (the IPO often runs late) -- the last train back to mine is 10:30...

Will you have your Beach Boys book with you to sell, Andrew?

Stupidly, it didn't occur to me that that might be a good idea, and I haven't got time to order copies for Saturday. But if anyone who's already bought a copy (or indeed anyone who's bought my books on the Beatles, the Monkees or comics) wants one signed, or wants to batter me around the head and body for my disrespectful opinion of their favourite song, or point out a glaring error that completely invalidates the entire book (or just have a chat), I'm the fat bloke with the beard.

(Actually, as this is the IPO, and I've been there often enough to know the audience, I should rephrase that. I'm the fat bloke with the *biggest* beard )
